Insurance Approved Lock Upgrades in Penryn & Cornwall
High security lock solutions for uPVC, Wooden & Composite Doors
If you’re concerned about the security of your property or need to meet your insurance company’s requirements, S N Todd Locksmiths & Security provides professional insurance approved lock upgrades throughout Penryn and the South & West Cornwall area.
Many older locks no longer meet current security standards and may leave your home or business vulnerable to break-ins. In some cases, they can also invalidate insurance cover. We supply and install modern, high-security locks designed to improve protection and comply with recognised British Standards.
Based in Penryn, Falmouth, I cover all of South & West Cornwall. We aim to respond to all emergency calls within the hour where possible.
Why Upgrade Your Locks?
Lock technology has improved significantly in recent years. Older locks are often susceptible to common burglary techniques and may not offer the level of protection expected today.
We supply 3 star insurance rated locks for uPVC & Composite doors, and BS3621 for all wooden doors.
You may need a lock upgrade if:
-
Your locks are old, worn, or unreliable
-
You have recently moved into a new property
-
Your insurer has requested upgraded locks
-
You want to improve home security and peace of mind
-
Your current locks are not British Standard approved
We provide honest advice and will only recommend upgrades that genuinely improve your security.
Insurance-Approved Lock Installation (BS3621)
We install insurance approved locks, including BS3621 compliant locks, which are commonly required by UK insurance providers. These locks are tested to meet strict security standards and offer improved resistance against forced entry.
Our lock upgrade services include:
-
Installation of BS3621 insurance approved locks
-
High-security cylinder upgrades
-
Anti-snap, anti-drill and anti-bump cylinders
-
Multi-point locking system upgrades
-
Replacement of damaged or non-compliant locks
All locks are supplied and fitted professionally, with clear explanations of your options before any work begins.
Door & Window Security Upgrades
A property is only as secure as its weakest point. In addition to door locks, we can improve the security of windows, patio doors, and secondary access points.
We offer:
-
Window lock repairs and replacements
-
Additional security for uPVC, composite, and wooden doors
-
Upgraded locking mechanisms for patio and French doors
These improvements can significantly reduce the risk of forced entry and help meet insurance requirements.
Home Security Checks & Advice
If you’re unsure whether your current locks meet insurance standards, we can carry out a basic security assessment of your property. We’ll identify any weak points and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions to improve security.
This service is particularly useful if:
-
You’ve had a recent burglary or attempted break-in
-
You’re renting out a property
-
You’re preparing to renew your home insurance
